MAXON Telecom Hosts Environmental Education Program in Dangjin to “Protect the Earth with Children”

  • Conducted hands-on environmental education for all students of Seongdang Elementary School
  • Employees participated as one-day instructors to promote awareness of resource circulation
  • Practiced ESG through collaboration with local community organizations

MAXON Telecom conducted an environmental education program for children at Seongdang Elementary School in Dangjin, Chungcheongnam-do, on May 14.

The program aimed to promote awareness of resource circulation and was attended by more than 100 students, including kindergarteners. Approximately 20 employees participated as one-day volunteer instructors, guiding children through safety briefings and interactive environmental activities.

This initiative was carried out in partnership with local institutions, including the Dangjin City Welfare Foundation and the Dangjin Northern Social Welfare Center, as part of MAXON Telecom’s ESG commitment to community engagement. The program was carefully structured into different sessions for kindergarten, lower grades, and upper grades to ensure both safety and educational effectiveness.

Under the concept of “Earth Factory,” children participated in a variety of engaging activities, such as:

  • “Mobile Stationery Store” – exchanging used milk cartons and batteries for school supplies
  • “Ttakji Game” – a traditional paper-folding game using recycled materials

Additional activities included:

  • “Seed Shop” – learning how to grow and care for plants
  • “Courageous Snack Shop” – encouraging the use of reusable containers instead of disposable packaging

The program received enthusiastic participation and positive feedback from both students and teachers, helping children naturally understand the importance of environmental sustainability through fun and hands-on experiences. A representative of MAXON Telecom stated,
“We believe environmental education is most effective when it is experiential. Through this program, we hope to inspire children to take meaningful steps toward protecting the environment in their daily lives.”
