MAXON Telecom Launches 5G PoE Cable “Simplewide™ 2.0” with Industry-Leading Performance
MAXON Telecom announced on December 4 the launch of its next-generation PoE (Power over Ethernet) cable, Simplewide™ 2.0, designed to support high-speed 5G network environments.
The new solution is expected to replace high-cost optical fiber installations in applications such as multi-channel camera systems, high-resolution CCTV, and advanced surveillance networks.
PoE technology enables both data transmission and power delivery through a single cable. Simplewide™ 2.0 delivers up to 5 Gbps data speed and 100 W power output over distances of up to 180 meters, significantly exceeding previous benchmarks of 1 Gbps and 30 W.
With 5 Gbps performance, the cable enables high-quality video streaming and real-time data backup for IP cameras, CCTV systems, and IoT devices, supporting the growing demand for smart surveillance and connected infrastructure.
In addition, the product offers 100 W power capacity, the highest level currently available in the industry, allowing stable operation of high-performance devices such as AI-enabled CCTV cameras and motion sensor systems.
A company representative stated,
“Compared to traditional optical fiber solutions, installation costs can be reduced by approximately 40–50%, as separate power lines and electrical infrastructure are no longer required. Demand is rapidly increasing across public infrastructure projects such as subways, parks, schools, stadiums, and smart buildings.”
